Fulltone are the first to offer a switchable "Boost" Channel in an overdrive. There are lots of Fulldrive2 wannabees out there... how can you tell? Simple, if it is an Overdrive with 2 footswitches then it's a rip-off of the FD2.
The 2003 model (shipping now) includes some exciting changes including the addition of a mini toggle switch offering the following features:
"Vintage" for those old mid-heavy, thick mid-'90's FD2 tones that the Ebayers pay too much for.
"FM" stands for "flat-mids" offering a more natural sound but they've enhanced this mode for even more transparency, it sounds like God on a strat's Neck Pickup, truly spectacular!
"CompCut" feature has been relocated from the volume Pot to the 3-way mini-toggle switch so you won't accidentally kick it while on stage
Housed in a beautiful powder coated Blue 16ga.steel enclosure, the first channel is the "Overdrive Mode" capable of Clean Boost or non-compressed overdrive or choose light to medium softer Overdrives all while retaining your guitar's original tone. The Tone knob is a very effective Presence control that can smooth out or add upper harmonics. There's also a footswitchable second channel "Boost Mode" with its own separate Distortion control for medium to higher gains with a more singing violin-like sustain!
This pedal gets its natural sound through the use of Asymmetrical Clipping and "Feedback Loop" circuit... a way of creating distortion high in even ordered harmonics like a Class A tube amp! True Bypass w/ LED is standard equipment.
